Deusi Program in Shyama Shyam Dham, Thimi

Tihar is one of the greatest festival in Nepal. It is celebrated for five days worshipping Kag, Kukur, Laxmi, Govardhan and finally Bhaitika. It Tihat there is a widespread culture to sing Deusi songs ( a song of blessing for wellbeing and happiness) going to the houses of relatives, friends and others as well. In return, the house-owner, usually housewife, brings a well decorated nanglo(a typical Nepali tray made of bamboo) with rice, sel roti(a dish made of rice-flour) and some money, as a symbol of Goddess Laxmi. At Shyama Shyam Dham, satsangis gathered together on Kartik 9 (Oct 25) and sang Deusi songs praying for Selfless service of Shri Krishn and Shree Maharaj Ji. After the program there was, of course, delicious prasadi.
