Bhakti Mandir
The first original Jagadguru (the world teacher) Shree Shankaracharya who paid visit to Nepal some 2,500 years ago and made a historic contribution to promoting the temple of Lord Pashupatinath (Shiva) as a center of worldwide faith is still remembered with high esteem. The fifth original Jagadguru of the present era Shree Kripalu Ji Maharaj has just added another dimension for Nepali devotees by inspiring to build 'Bhakti Mandir', the temple of devotion in the premises of Shyama Shyam Dham, Thimi. Encouraged by the graceful inspiration of Shree Maharaj Ji, The Radha Madhav Samiti, Nepal took the initiatives and the Bhakti Mandir has been built with the assiduous hard work and contributions by the devotees and the well wishers. The specialty of this Mandir is that it encompounds the main temple of Shree Radha Krishn surrounded by the temples of their eight Great (core) Companions widely known as Ashta Mahasakhi. This has, therefore, been acclaimed as the first Bhakti Mandir or Radha Krishn temple with specific features ever built in Nepal. The overall beauty of the temple has been enhanced by the magnificent pillars built with the precisely cut black stones, the superb class of marbles brought all the way from Gujrat, India. The temple resembles a master piece of art, artifacts and workmanship displaying itself as a milestone in excelling the Nepali arts and culture. The five stupas (gajoor) on the top of the central temple of Shree Radha Krishn represent the five Jagadgurus namely, Shankaracharya, Nimbarkacharya, Ramanujacharya, Madhvacharya and Shree Kripalu Ji Maharaj There are ten statues, two of which are sculptured to Shree Radha and Shree Krishn and the rest eight are of the Ashta Mahasakhi, namely, Lalita, Vishakha, Sudevi, Rangadevi, Champaklata, Chitra, Tungavidya and Indulekha. The belief has that it is only with the kindness of these core mates can one get access to the closeness and continued service to Shree Radha and Shree Krishn. Shree Radha-Krishn temple is located at the center of the premises with Shri Maharaj Ji's picture on the background of the two statues and those of the Ashta Mahasakhi are positioned on the periphery, two each at the four corners. The central temple and whole of the premises face toward east whereas all the Ashta Mahasakhi temples face towards the central temple of Shri Radha Krishn. All the statues are built with the top class maccarana marbles from Rajasthan cut and carved with the highest degree of precision by the expert artists. On the four corners, by the side of each of the Mahasakhi temples, are placed the holy verses of "Shree Krishnadwadashpadi" meaning twelve verses about Shree Krishn and "Shree Radhatrayodashi" meaning thirteen verses about Shree Radha composed by Jagad Guru Shree Kripalu Ji Maharaj inscripted beautifully on marble plates. It is believed that these verses which describe the divine body features of Shree Radha and Shree Krishn will remain as a perennial source of inspiration to all those opting to the path of devotion. On the western side, on the back of the central temple, has been kept the holy writings by Shree Kripalu Ji Maharaj inspiring all to contribute in the construction of the Bhakti Mandir. The Great Instructions issued in the original handwritings of Shree Maharaj Ji have been placed embossed on a brass plate. As the visitors enter the Bhakti Mandir premises, they are welcomed at the entrance gate by two grand bells on the left and right built up with five metal alloys inscripted on their outer surface with 'Radhe Radhe'. It is believed that the magnificent temple built in Dravid fashion of architecture, a kind gift and an expression of loving benevolence by Shree Kripalu Ji Maharaj exclusively for the Nepali devotees, will remain as a historic memoir of spiritual significance for the generations to come and continue to stimulate all to the path of devotion. Grandeur and splendor of the temple is such that even the experts had estimated that it could take at least five years or so for the construction. However, by the benignity and patronage of Shree Maharaj Ji, the whole construction works with finishing and polishing was completed in less than two year time. Any one who visits Shyama Shyam Dham and spend some hours in the sacred and serene environment of Sadhana Bhavan and Bhakti Mandir can experience that the Dham is gradually developing and unfolding as a center of spiritual knowledge and devotion. Besides, the Dham complex is gaining its new reputation as a place of tourist attraction. Shree Radha Madhav Samitti, Nepal on behalf of Shyama Shyam Dham requests all to pay visit to Shyama Shyam Dham and Bhakti Mandir and gain spiritual benefits .
