Tihar is one of the greatest festival in Nepal. It is celebrated for five days worshipping Kag, Kukur, Laxmi, Govardhan and finally Bhaitika. It Tihat there is a widespread culture to sing Deusi songs ( a song of blessing for wellbeing and happiness) going to the houses of relatives, friends and others as well. In return, the house-owner, usually housewife, brings a well decorated nanglo(a typical Nepali tray made of bamboo) with rice, sel roti(a dish made of rice-flour) and some money, as a symbol of Goddess Laxmi.
At Shyama Shyam Dham, satsangis gathered together on Kartik 9 (Oct 25) and sang Deusi songs praying for Selfless service of Shri Krishn and Shree Maharaj Ji. After the program there was, of course, delicious prasadi.
